Fourteen hours without a forum. I was seeing how long I could take it.
I wasn't doing well. _________________ Felix qui potuit rerum cognoscere causas. |

| I wasn't sure if it was coming back , no updates like we would get before. What is going on with the future of the forum? |

This was just a technical problem that will, unfortunately, be likely to recur until some issues are resolved on the server. It doesn't impact or indicate anything about the future of the forum. |

i think its all part of a clever ploy to get us all to witness the shock and horror of a world without the cranepool forum, and to incite us into action!
your clever tricks won't work on a slacker like me!!! _________________ the first step is admitting you're a runner.

I've been posting messages on the facebook page when the forum is down
to let people know if they're working on it.
Direct quote from owner/tech/whatever at the host:
"Per the logs I show that people are exploiting vulnerabilities of your website. Then the safety features block your access because of the slow query errors." _________________ decisions made from desperation

Damn, I'm afraid I'll have to get with the times and start a Facebook page. I've been resolutely clinging to my old technologies of the 20th century. No Iphones, twitter, digital cameras, or facebook for me. Soon the day will come when I will have to leave my comfort zone and embrace the technological marvels of the 21st century. _________________ If I gain the whole world

Yeah, the digital camera was a game-changer for me.
Meantime I'm getting awfully close to buying one of those smartphone thingies. _________________ We got struggle time, we got outstanding time |

You didn't buy it last year , I seem to remember a thread you threw up about which one to buy.
Surely Doc in your practice you have embraced the tech world? |

Irish, my professional practice is indeed an exception to my low tech lifestyle. My partners and I strive to keep our office on the cutting edge of professional care for our patients. In the past 4-5 years we have added a pachymeter, an OCT (Ocular Coherence Tomographer), Digital laser retinal scanner, digital anterior segment camera, corneal topoagrapher, and 18 computers to integrate it all to our practice. Needless to say, it has been a substantial investment, but we strive to provide the best possible care for our patients.
Maybe all the high end technology in the office is a contributing factor to my less than cutting edge personal existence. _________________ If I gain the whole world
